November 10, 2002
fall snapshot

This is my family standing in front of the very red tree in my parents' backyard from earlier today. I look like a nerd. Except I'm wearing a really cool shirt that's half-robot, half the number 48. It was meant for little boys. Thus, it is kind of too small. My family are all very brightly colored, except for Mom, but the black part of my shirt ties in with the black of hers, and the yellow of Chris's shirt ties in with the yellow of Dad's, creating a lovely color composition all around. Okay, I was just going to draw a green hat on my dad's head to match my shirt, but that would ruin the charm.

So yesterday I went to my aunt's wedding. I got drunk, took a bunch of photos, found out where my grandfather grew up, discussed Robert Downey, Jr.'s incredible acting ability with a couple of relatives, heard about how Liam was almost in one of those lame Levi's ads where they photograph musicians standing on balconies looking pensive, graciously received compliments on my brown dress, and danced.

After our spot-on mimickry of the way our parents shake their groove things, my brother and I tore up the floor with our crazy impromptu routines. Most guests were amused. Maybe I can get hold of my cousin's video of us dancing and post it. Then you could be amused, too.
